Species native to southern Africa

Causus defilipii (Snouted Night adder)

This species while very similar to the Causus rhombeatus (Rhombic Night adder) can be differentiated by its smaller size and the upturned snout that gives it its common name.

Causus rhombeatus (Rhombic Night adder or Common Night adder)

The largest species in the Genus and has lightly keeled scales which give it a velvety appearance.
