Camellia (tea genus)

About 120 species, native from the Himalayas to Japan and Indonesia. Two species are cultivated in southern Africa: Camellia japonica (Common camellia) and Camellia sinensis (Tea).

Two species cultivated: Stewartia pseudocamellia (Japanese false camellia) (native to Korea and Japan) and Stewartia sinensis (Chinese false camellia) (native to China).
