Entomologist, specialising in aculeate wasps, who is head of Entomology at the Albany Museum, Grahamstown. Used to work at the South African Museum. Husband of S.K. Gess.

SAM ants: 1955-1967 (various localities); Albany Museum ants: 1982-1987 (various localities).
