Polysyncraton aspiculatum

Occurs from Japan to the Philippines, southern Australia, Djibouti and South Africa (Sodwana Bay, KwaZulu-Natal). Variable in appearance, thus casting doubt on whether there is only one species. Found at depths ranging from 5-16 m.

 

Polysyncraton chuni

Collected off the Cape of Good Hope at a depth of 318 m.

 

Polysyncraton magnilarvum

Recorded from KwaZulu-Natal.

 

Polysyncraton millepore

Recorded from Madagascar, Mozambique and South Africa. Within South Africa, it has only been recorded from Sodwana Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, at depths ranging from 8-22 m.

 

Polysyncraton spongioides

Collected off the Cape of Good Hope at a depth of 318 m.
