This is one of the three main species of hawkmoth that are
active in the daytime, the other two species being Cephanodes
hylas and Macroglossum trochilus.
Distribution
South Africa: KwaZulu-Natal, 'Transvaal'.
Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi to Kenya (Pinhey 1975).
