Euglyphida

One of the groups of 'testate amoebae', i.e. amoebae enclosed in a shell or test. Euglyphids has a single opening in the test through which they extend their elongate pseudopods, which are used for capturing food (e.g. bacteria) and pulling the cell along. Euglyphids are commonly found in organically rich environments such as soils and marshes.
