Distribution and habitat

Occurs in patches across sub-Saharan Africa, from Senegal east to southern Sudan and south through Tanzania to Angola, Zambia and northern Mozambique. Its distribution marginally extends into the southern African part of Mozambique, where it occurs in the canopy of Miombo (Brachystegia) woodland.
