Fungus beetles range in
size (3-30mm) and are usually dark in colour and densely patterned. The rostrum
(snout) can be short or long and unlike the Curculionidae, the antennae
(feelers) are long and slender. Adults and larvae feed on fungi, bark and
rotting wood and adults also feed on pollen.
